Adventures in the mountains

No pony rides – but plenty of time spent with the ponies. Our little ponies, Elli and Lina, aren’t riding ponies – which is why we don’t offer pony rides. Instead, we give the children the chance to get to know our ponies at their own pace, to stroke them, brush them, plait their manes – simply to have a lovely time with them. The focus is on treating the animals with love and respect. This way, our little pony-lovers can get up close to Elli and Lina, build trust and share lots of lovely moments with them. We can’t wait for your pony adventures. Children may only enter the stables to see the animals when accompanied by their parents!

Time with the animals instead of pony rides

We don’t go horse-riding here. Children get to experience ponies and rabbits in a much more personal way – by going for walks, feeding them, spending time with them and simply enjoying their company.

Pony walk

Dear parents – we need your help.

We don’t offer pony rides here – because sometimes you don’t need a saddle at all to experience a real pony adventure. Instead, you can give your children some very special moments with our ponies, Elli and Lina. You’re welcome to lead the ponies out of the stable and take them for a walk towards Wolfsee.

Fetch the ponies from the paddock

In summer, our ponies spend their time alternately in the paddock and in the stable.

An experience not every holiday offers: once a week, Farmer Josef sets off to bring Elli and Lina home from the paddock – you’re invited to join in and accompany him on the journey. You’re welcome to lead the ponies and hold their halters.

When the ponies are in the stable, you’re welcome to stroke and groom them. This way, you’ll get to spend plenty of time with our little darlings and enjoy their company.

Visit and feed the rabbits and guinea pigs

For us, it’s all about our little, fluffy friends!

Stroking guinea pigs – very gently and lovingly
Cuddling – for rabbit fans of all ages
Feeding – our rabbits and guinea pigs love a carrot or a lettuce leaf.

Come into the hutch, get up close to our fluffy darlings and enjoy a wonderful time with the animals.

Our bunnies and guinea pigs have plenty planned again – and you can join in! Today we’re off for a trip to the countryside – the bunnies are being taken out for a walk. We’re setting off on a journey of discovery in the handcart.

Our little darlings are already looking forward to seeing you.

You’re welcome to visit the little rabbits and guinea pigs in their hutch at any time. Come and meet our fluffy friends and enjoy an unforgettable time full of joy, fun and lots of rabbit love!

We have children leaping for joy!

Our garden with sunbathing area is located directly next to the Schimpfösslhof building. This is surrounded by a fence and stone wall. The children run and play there freely, safely and carefree. The little ones can romp around, build castles or jump on the trampoline. Table tennis and the many ball games invite the whole family to sports and exciting matches. The grown-ups race against each other on the super-cool go-carts. The little ones have fun with the tractors, scooters and bobby cars. When the sun goes on holiday, we have something else for you. The building has a small but excellent playroom with lots of toys such as Playmobil, wooden blocks, cars, games, painting and craft materials, Duplo train set, PlayStation, etc.

    Our farm in Fiss is home to four ponies, a Haflinger, rabbits and guinea pigs. Our tomcat also likes to roam around the farm.

    Interacting with our animals is a wonderful holiday experience, especially for children. Whether it’s stroking rabbits, watching guinea pigs or grooming ponies – there’s plenty for animal lovers of all ages to discover here.

    Yes, our younger guests are welcome to visit the animals in the stables at any time, accompanied by their parents. We place great importance on treating our animals with love, gentleness and respect. This also includes respecting their rest periods.

    When Farmer Josef is working in the stables, children are welcome to help with animal care and feeding. In doing so, they learn, almost as an aside, how life on a farm works and what it means to take responsibility for animals.

  • keyboard_arrow_rightWhat do children need to bear in mind when feeding and handling the animals?

    Our rabbits may be fed with lettuce leaves and carrots. The ponies and our Haflinger, however, must not be fed. The wrong food can cause severe colic in horses.

    The rabbits and guinea pigs may be taken out into the garden carefully in a basket. Please ensure they do not escape, and return the animals to their exact original spot afterwards. Males and females must be kept strictly separate.

    It is important to us that all animals are treated with care and feel at ease.

    Yes, our ponies are one of the special holiday experiences for children at the Schimpfösslhof. When they are in the stable, children are allowed to stroke, clean and groom them together with their parents.

    In summer, two of our ponies take turns spending two to three days in the stable and the rest of the time in a paddock about one kilometre away. The other two ponies and our Haflinger enjoy the summer on the alpine pastures.

    When Farmer Josef brings the ponies from the paddock to the farm or back again, the children are welcome to accompany him on this pony walk together with their parents.

    Our garden, which covers around 150 m², is surrounded by stone walls and wooden fences and offers children plenty of space to play and run about.

    In summer, there is a trampoline, a sandpit, pedal tractors with trailers, Bobby Cars, go-karts, scooters, a balance bike, table tennis, badminton, footballs, basketballs and various other toys available.

    For adults, there are cosy seating areas and garden loungers. Guests are welcome to pick fresh herbs from our herb garden to use in their cooking.

    There are also public playgrounds nearby: the playground at the Fissikus is less than 50 metres away, and the Kulturhaus playground is about 400 metres away.

    Even when it’s raining, there’s no chance of getting bored here. In the cellar, there’s a small playroom with plenty of toys, which guests are welcome to take back to their flat.

    Board games and wooden building blocks are also available for family fun. A visit to the barn to see our rabbits and guinea pigs is, of course, particularly popular.

    In the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis region, there are also various indoor activities on offer, such as PlayIN in Serfaus, indoor play areas in Fiss and Ladis, and mini-golf at the ski depot in Fiss during the summer.
