How to find us!

  • directions_carArriving by car:
    • Munich - Garmisch - Fernpass mountain pass - Imst - Landeck (Landecker Tunnel) - Ried - Fiss
    • Toll-free via Fernpass and from Imst via the federal highway to Landeck and Fiss! – IMPORTANT INFORMATION: the road through Landeck is closed until around the end of 2021! In Zams, you join the motorway towards Innsbruck/Reschenpass mountain pass and arrive at Fiss through the Landeck tunnel. Driving through the Landeck tunnel does NOT require a toll sticker/digital vignette while the road is closed.

    • Ulm - Lindau - Bregenz - Arlberg - Landeck - Ried - Fiss

    After arriving in Fiss, take the 1st exit to the village A and continue along the Via-Claudia-Augusta road until you reach the village square (public administration office, museum). Then turn right and continue up Puintweg. After around 30 m, you will see our building – Schimpfößlhof – on the right.

    When arriving in winter, please bring snow chains!

  • keyboard_arrow_rightWhere is the Schimpfösslhof and how far away are the mountain railways?

    Our Schimpfösslhof is situated right in the centre of Fiss in Tyrol, at an altitude of 1,436 metres above sea level. You can easily reach the valley station of the Schönjochbahn in about five minutes’ walk via the pedestrian zone. In winter, a conveyor belt makes the steep climb to the mountain railway easier.

    Restaurants, supermarkets, the bakery and numerous other amenities are also very close by. The church in Fiss is right next to our house.

  • keyboard_arrow_rightHow do I get to the Schimpfösslhof in Fiss by car?

    Depending on your starting point, you can reach Fiss via various routes:

    • Via the Fern Pass, Imst, the Landeck Tunnel (which requires a vignette), Prutz and Ried to Fiss.
    • Via Bregenz, the Arlberg Pass or Arlberg Tunnel, Landeck, Prutz and Ried to Fiss.
    • From Munich via Kufstein, Innsbruck, Imst, Landeck, Prutz and Ried to Fiss.

    In Fiss, take the first entrance to the village (A) and drive to the village square with the museum and the local council offices. From there, the Puintweg leads uphill to the right. After about 30 metres, you will find our Schimpfösslhof on the right-hand side.

    Yes, you can travel to Fiss comfortably by train and bus. The nearest railway station is in Landeck. From there, you can take the Postbus or a taxi to Fiss.

    If you’re travelling by plane, Innsbruck Airport is an option. From there, you can take a taxi to Fiss.

    Yes, free, covered parking is available for our guests right next to our property. One parking space is allocated for each apartment.

    For larger holiday flats, two to three cars can be parked one behind the other. If there isn’t enough space, we have additional parking available in the multi-storey car park at the entrance to the village.

    We can also accommodate vehicles up to roughly the size of a VW bus. For larger vehicles, please enquire in advance so that we can discuss the parking arrangements together.

    Yes, there is an electric charging point right next to our property. We’ll provide you with a chip so you can charge your electric car during the day. You’ll settle the bill for the electricity used directly with us at the Schimpfösslhof.

    Yes, thanks to our central location, a car-free holiday at the Schimpfösslhof is perfectly possible. The Schönjochbahn is about a five-minute walk away. Restaurants, supermarkets, the bakery, the bank, Lake Wolfsee and the bike park are also easily accessible on foot or by bike.

    The nearest bus stop is only about 100 metres away. In summer, the mountain railways and the hiking bus make it easy to explore the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis region. In winter, you’ll also benefit from the ski storage facility right next to the Schönjochbahn valley station.
